Mantan Manten & Shazam! review

Hi All,

I want to share my review about watching two movies. First of all, I got a chance to watched these movies for free. How? I joined giveaways!

So, I'm currently loving inspigo app; a podcast platform. You can use my referral code hqa0b to get free premium for 2 weeks!

Then they announced they were giving 2 tickets to watch Mantan Manten. Indonesian movie about an ex who is getting married. Thank God I won the giveaway. So here's my review on the first movie that I watched

Mantan Manten (7/10)
The choice of casts is great. I love Atiqah, Arifin and my favorite is the bude Tutie! She might be old already but she's beautiful and looks so elegant. I want to be that elegant when I'm old!

The story is about Nina, a PR consultant that was trapped by her boss. Causing her to be fired and lost everything. Apparently her boss is the father of her fiance, Surya. Nina came to realize that she had bought a house in Solo but she still hasnt "owned" the house. She comes to Solo to gain the ownership of her house. The one who lived in the house is Bude Marjati, a dukun manten. Her job is to paes a bride, etc. It's a tradition from Java. The story is about how Nina overcome revenge that she planned, but finding love towards javanese culture/dukun manten instead. The plot twist is that Surya's father is asking bude to be dukun manten to Surya's wedding.

I actually like the story. But I dont think Mantan Manten is a suitable choice for the movie. Dukun Manten will be more suitable. It doesnt really show the story about an ex is getting married, more like to how to forget your revenge and how to be dukun manten, in my opinion.

Next movie I watched was Shazam! I got the free tickets from Allfilmid in instagram. They are an account dedicated to movies. Telling followers when's the release about movies, the casts, and other movie stuffs. Here's my review about Shazam!:

Shazam! (8.5/10)
It's actually refreshing to have DC production movie that is full of humor and not that dark. Eventhough I totally still can sense the darkness. I dont think kids are allowed to watch this. I personally am scared in some scenes.

The story begins with old Shazam that searched for a pure soul to replace him as Shazam or superhuman or witch or whatever you want to call it. He held "auditions" but never find the pure soul. In 1974, one kid named Thad met him but was told he was not good enough.

Fast forward to current year, Billy Batson, a foster kid that is always trying to find his mom, was forced to live with a foster family. Apparently the parents were also foster kids. They had 5 foster kids already, Mary Pedro Freddy Eugene Darla.

One day, adult Thad finds a way to meet the old shazam, and he released 7 deadly sins demons: Envy Greed Lust Gluttony Sloth Wrath Pride. After that Billy was taken away to meet old shazam. Without further audition, he was chosen to be Shazam! and defeat Thad and the demons. He can change into his best adult form slash superhero just from saying Shazam!

I think the movie is funny. But the demons are totally scary, no joke. I've always preferred DC's superheroes than Marvel (sue me, whatever). And Shazam! is unlike DC's superheroes. Maybe because Billy is still 14 years old. I recommend you to watch Shazam! Because the story is about family. You will realize that you are prohibitted to humiliate your own kids. And what/how humiliation can affect a person. And also family is everything, no doubt.

That's my review for now. These are actually my first review! Thank you for reading❤
